Boathouse Row, Philadelphia Engagement: Maria+Kevin

maria + kevin are so perfect for each other it just makes me smile every time i look at their engagement photos.  i had such an amazing time with them in philadelphia along the schuylkill river shooting their engagement pictures.  the weather was ideal and we were able to snag some really great light as the sun began to set.  i’m really looking forward to capturing memories for them on their wedding day next august in new york.  enjoy.

Modern Family Photography: The Cakert’s

meet our great friends, the cakert family…. an extraordinary family made up of ideal people.  we had a great time hanging out with them for the afternoon at their home in ventnor, nj. our evening was full of smiles, laughs and trevor the cat following us around everywhere we went.  it is very inspiring to see how much everyone in this family truly enjoys the company of one another.  thank you cakert family for bringing the “awesome time” on our mini photo session.  enjoy.

Philadelphia, PA Wedding: Deborah + Ron

deborah + ron are a perfect match.  we are so happy to welcome her into our crazy family.  oh yeah, i forgot to mention: ron and i are cousins.  although you wouldn’t know it by the looks of things, my whole body is probably the size of one of his arms.  ron was a high school football star (not like al bundy).  after high school he went on to play and excel on the marshall university football team. GO HERD!!  okay, okay enough sports talk: let’s get back to this amazing wedding.

deborah + ron tied the knot in a beautiful church in hatboro, pennsylvania called saint john bosco.  after the ceremony we gathered up the whole wedding party and headed to byers choice gardens for some awesome formal pictures with the bride and groom, parents and bridal party.  the night concluded with a fun filled reception at spring mill manor in ivyland, pa.  although my GPS system would say different – (:

introducing my cousin and cousin-in-law newlyweds:  deborah + ron  -  enjoy.

lauren and i were really excited to be their chosen wedding photographers and we had a blast capturing photos for them throughout their big day.  this is how we roll as south jersey wedding photographers.  introducing newlyweds, stacy + matt!!!  enjoy.

the wedding transportation for the day was provided by the ultra cool great american trolley.

when i asked the bride and groom for their wedding rings at the reception so i could take a photo of them , i found stacy’s response to be hilarious.  as she handed her ring over to me she jokingly said – “what?, are you going to take a picture of them with beer bottles or something?”  ha ha, i said “no but that would be pretty cool”.  little did she know at the time how close she was – (:

stacy and matt brought the heat and took it to funky town all night long with the music from Gforce band rockin’ the house.  i told you we could get down at a south jersey wedding.

Improving Your Photography Business

last night lauren and i hosted a really awesome “GTG” with a few local photographers to discuss ways on improving our business and branding.  we covered a lot of useful information and i thought i would share some links on my blog to recap what we had discussed.  i also wanted to thank everyone who came out to our house. – thank you, stephanie sherwoodkim mooreray hennessypat fureylaura garvey

our discussion started with defining your ideal client and targeting the perfect wedding couple for your business –  here is a link with great insight from jasmine star’s photography blog: a detailed portrait of an ideal client

JasmineStar

i suggested that everyone should be on twitterfacebook – and blogging regularly.  these three social media sites in particular have completely shaped the way i run my photography business.  check out this link from the brand camp blog on why: your brand needs twitter

Brand-Camp

the value in online photography forums, workshops, and photographer GTG’s was discussed in depth.  below are a few links to sites and groups that have extremely helped me grow my photography business when i was first starting out.  not to mention the networking and friendships i have made along the way – it’s pretty mind blowing.

zack arias’s photo critiques that are posted on his blog are amazing.  together with his wife meghan they have done ten episodes to date and each one is extremely informative and helpful for any photographer in the business today.  below is the video clip from their first critique:  all the critiques can be found over on zarias.com

get totally rad has also put together some awesome audio interviews with great photographers.  this link will take you to blog talk radio where you will be able to listen to all the available episodes they have on file.  this is a great resource to see how other successful photographers are running their business.

i hope you can take some time to soak in all the content i have linked to above and apply it to your own business.  i really look forward to hosting more GTG’s in the future and networking with photographers.  enjoy
