beach cruisin’ | steph+brian

“big thanks” to our good friends heather & ken who referred us to photograph the engagement and wedding for their sister (stephanie) and soon to be brother-in-law (brian).  it’s such a treat for us to be around two people who are so in love and happy.  we had a super fun afternoon with them around the bay avenue beach and pier of somers point, nj.  this area is very familiar to me,  i grew up on this very beach almost my entire life.  it was so nice to be back photographing around my old stomping grounds.  the photo session couldn’t have gone any smoother, these love birds were up for anything and enjoying every second together.  congratulations steph+brian, we can’t wait to capture some more awesomeness on your wedding day.  enjoy.

“i love lucy” the elephant | jill+brian

lucy is a big elephant that rests just a few steps away from the beaches of margate, nj.  it’s a famous landmark for us here in south jersey.  we really do love lucy but on this day i think we loved the awesomeness of jill+brian even more.  these two came to their beach engagement session prepared for a good time.  lauren and i had a blast hanging with them for the afternoon and photographing all their goofiness.  their feelings for each other are infectious and we can’t wait to see them again on their wedding day to celebrate.

sometimes i have to get a little close for comfort to get the photograph i want.  luckily our clients are the best and everyone plays along. (:

the moment it clicks

remember jamie+tony’s “rock the dress” session that we recently photographed at the gorgeous grounds for sculpture in hamilton, nj.   well, what i forgot to mention in that post was that while we were setting up a new shot for them i caught a glimpse out of the corner of my eye of a happy couple up on the hill behind us.  my first thought was “oh cool, look how awesome the light is hitting those two over there – that should be our next location we go for some more photos.”  i picked up my camera, aimed it at the cute couple to get an exposure reading of the scene and that’s when it happened.  at the exact second i shot my first frame this guy began his engagement proposal to his girlfriend.  it was really one of those rare moments in life that you can’t believe just happened in front of you.  i made sure to snag the glowing bride-to-be’s email address so she can relive that moment again through these images.  i hope they enjoy them as much as i did capturing them.  (:

i wet my pants | megan+chris

i literally wet my pants during this engagement session.  not because i couldn’t hold it in but because i really wanted to get a cool sunset image as our couple walked down the beach.  (check out the last image in the post)  my angle for the photograph had to be super low while in the waters edge.  hence, i got my pants all wet.  it was so worth it.  (:

we love us some late afternoon sun on the beach and it’s even better when we are hanging with an awesome couple celebrating their engagement together.  megan+chris couldn’t be more in-love and we enjoyed every minute of our time with them.  lauren told me after their session that she wished that they lived a little closer to us because she could hang out with megan everyday.  (:  thanks again guys for taking the 3 hour drive down to us for your engagement photos.  we really appreciate it and feel honored that you have chosen us to document your wedding day.

we are totally looking forward to photographing their wedding at the gorgeous bonnet island estate located near long beach island, nj this july.  introducing megan+chris | engaged   -enjoy
