lauren and i are always a little anxious and excited leading up to a photo session when we have never met our clients before.  this was the case with the petrella family earlier this week. the session was a gift from the kids for their parents anniversary. how cool is that!?

i have to say, with the petrella family, it was like we were all best friends from the start – i don’t think lauren and i have laughed so much during a photo shoot. we met them down at kennedy park in somers point, nj and then headed towards linwood where we happened to stumble upon an amazing location within a field of yellow wild flowers.  if i didn’t already love my family as much as i do, i would want to be adopted by this crew… (;   enjoy the happy.

lets all give jason a virtual high five..  don’t leave a brother hanging now…

i was extremely excited when the petrella family booked us for their family portrait session last month.  besides being an absolute joy to photograph, they had a vision of what they wanted and i was honored that they chose me to be the photographer to bring it to life.  the goal of the shoot was to capture a few real life images in a modern, hip, edgy, and somewhat moody way.  it was so much fun creating select focusing, lens blurs, and textures to the photos.  thanks gang for being so cool and getting dirty with me, hope you likey….

here’s a little infrared action.. i just love how it turned the autumn leaves to a powder white against the dark sky.

i almost went blind trying to snag this picture, but i just couldn’t pass up those killer shadows.
